The Kaaba is originally more than 5000 years old. The Foundation of the Kaaba was laid by Prophet Ibrahim AS, but the Kaaba that was see today is not exactly the same Kaaba that was constructed by Prophet Ibrahim AS.

Did you know that there are actually two Holy Kaaba? The one we see is located in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, whereas the other one is situated right above this Kaaba in the seven skies and is known as 'Bait Al Mamoor.'

The Kaaba had two doors, one for entering and the other for exiting. This door was built by Abdullah bin Zubair RA in 64 Hijri, as per the directives of Ayesha RA, In 75 Hijri, this door was closed by Hajjaj bin Yousuf.

The Kaaba was originally D-Shaped according to the foundation laid by Prophet Ibrahim AS. It took on its cubical shape when it was reconstructed by the Quraysh before Islam, who could not rebuild the entire structure due to a lack of funds.

The Black Stone, situated on the eastern corner of the Kabah, is broken into pieces but is encased in silver to hold it together. Most scholars believe it was damaged during the Qarmatian siege of Makkah. Fortunately, the Abbasid caliph recovered the Fragments and secured them in the silver casing.

The Kaaba was not originally covered in black cloth, the tradition of using black cloth was started by the Abbasids, who favored this color in their household. Before this change, the Kaaba was green, red, and white as well.
