Seamless Travel Redefined: Exploring the Convenience of Saudi Arabia New No Bags Service.
Are you planning to visit Saudi Arabia for Hajj, Umrah, or Ziyarat? Do you want to avoid the trouble of packing your bags and handling the airport formalities? If so, you will be happy to hear that Saudi Arabia has introduced a new service that will make your travel experience more comfortable and enjoyable.
The service, called ‘No Bags’, lets you send your luggage from your home to any destination and complete all the travel-related formalities before your flight date. This way, you can skip the long lines, the heavy lifting, and the chance of losing your bags at the airports.
Sounds amazing, right? Here’s how it works:
What is the ‘No Bags’ service?
The service, announced by Matarat Holding on Tuesday, is a collaboration between the company and several airlines, travel agencies, and courier companies. Matarat Holding, which operates 27 airports in Saudi Arabia, said on its website that the service “offers travelers the ability to send their luggage ahead from home to any destination and complete travel-related formalities before their flight date.”
Travelers can also use the service 24 hours before their flight, Matarat noted in a post on X.
When will it be available?
The service, which will be available in the first quarter of 2024, will be open for international and domestic flights at all of the Kingdom’s airports, according to Matarat.
What are the requirements to use the service?
According to Matarat, passengers who want to use the ‘No Bags’ service should “have a confirmed and valid ticket or booking on one of the participating airlines.”
Travelers should provide all the necessary travel documentation and cannot include prohibited items in their luggage.
How much does it cost?
The cost of the service depends on the weight and size of the luggage, the destination, and the courier company. Matarat said that the service will offer “competitive prices” and “special discounts” for travelers who book through its website or app.
What are the advantages of the service?
The ‘No Bags’ service aims to provide travelers with access to easy travel procedures as well as enhance their experience “to keep pace with the aspirations and targets of the Saudi Kingdom’s Vision 2030, cut down airports wait times and limit the carrying of luggage in the airports,” Matarat Company explained.
It also falls under Matarat efforts “to supervise the operational processes of receiving travelers and achieving the highest standards of safety and comfort to ensure a smooth movement at all Saudi airports.”
Few of the advantages of the service include:
Saving time and energy by avoiding the trouble of packing, checking in, and collecting your bags at the airports.
Reducing the risk of losing or damaging your bags during transit.
Traveling light and stress-free, with only your carry-on items and personal belongings.
Enjoying more flexibility and convenience, as you can choose when and where to send your bags.
Supporting the environment and reducing carbon emissions, as less luggage means less fuel consumption and less waste.
Saudi Vision 2030
Saudi Arabia is currently undergoing a remarkable transformation across its economy, society, and culture, propelled by the ambitious Vision 2030 initiative introduced by the Saudi government in 2016. This comprehensive plan signifies a strategic shift aiming to diversify the country’s economy beyond its reliance on oil, fostering an environment that nurtures citizen growth and allows them to pursue their aspirations.
One of the primary goals of Vision 2030 is to create new opportunities for Saudi citizens, fostering an environment where they can thrive and follow their passions. Beyond economic diversification, the initiative seeks to elevate the overall quality of life and enhance social infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. Crucially, this is to be achieved by upholding the nation’s Islamic values and traditions while simultaneously embracing modernity and innovation.
Aligned with the broader Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aspires for global leadership and connectivity across three continents, Vision 2030 is not merely a future-oriented vision but a tangible reality unfolding in the present. The implementation of numerous projects and programs underscores the commitment to realizing the objectives set forth by Vision 2030, marking a significant stride towards Saudi Arabia’s transformation into a global leader in various fields. The vision stands as a testament to the nation’s dedication to balancing tradition with progress, exemplifying the harmonious coexistence of Islamic values and forward-thinking innovation.
